About Me
Tolu Aigbogun MBA, PGDip, BSc (ED)
Hello, I’m Tolu Aigbogun, an integrative therapist dedicated to healing both mind and body. Since 2020, I have immersed myself in the mental health sector, starting as a listening volunteer with Samaritans, where I learned the art of deep, non judgemental presence. Today, I practice as a high intensity psychotherapeutic counsellor in the NHS, specialising in depression, anxiety, and the complex emotional impact of long-term health conditions.
My counselling style is flexible and personcentred: I weave together PersonCentred Experiential (PCE) therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), ensuring each session is tailored to your unique story.
Alongside my psychotherapy work, I bring several years of experience as an Advanced Clinical Massage and Sports Therapist, treating everything from everyday musculoskeletal pain to chronic, complex issues. This dual expertise means I understand how emotional distress can manifest physically and how physical pain can affect mental wellbeing.
At the heart of my practice is a passion for listening, emotional attunement, and inclusive care. My approach is culturally sensitive and grounded in mental health advocacy rooted in compassion and cultural understanding. I create safe spaces where clients, particularly those with lived experience of shame and stigma, feel seen, heard, understood and supported.
For clients from African and diasporic backgrounds, I incorporate African-centred principles, recognising the importance of spirituality, faith, and connectedness as vital dimensions of healing. Whether through talking therapy, bodywork, or an integrated approach, my aim is to support your journey toward wholeness, balance, and renewed vitality.
I have the necessary insurance required to practice in my profession. I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and UK Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP) and adhere to their code of ethics, including regular Continuing Professional Development. I am also DBS checked.
