My name is Tolu and I am an Advanced Clinical Massage and Sports Therapist. I offer my services from my private practice in Shirley, Croydon, or it can be brought to you at home where necessary.
I specialise in common musculoskeletal pain pathologies as well as more complex and chronic issues using a fusion of techniques. Some of the techniques I use include Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy, Soft Tissue Release, Sports techniques, Stretching (passive, PNF & AIS), and Hot and Cold stone massage therapy. All treatments aim to reduce pain quickly and effectively, with results achievable in 1-6 sessions.
As a soft tissue practitioner with good knowledge of anatomy and intuitive listening touch, I am able to sensitively bring relief to conditions such as back problems, sciatica, herniated disc, frozen shoulder, sporting injury, headaches and migraines, RSI, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, whiplash, pain from pregnancy and stress-related conditions. I use the most appropriate and individually tailored techniques on my clients with a focus on outcome-oriented treatments to either reduce pain, injury, or help to improve movements and get your desired result within a realistic time frame.
I have certification as an advanced practitioner, accredited by Jing Advanced Massage Training and recognised by all major professional associations in the UK. I am also a qualified Pregnancy and Labour, Hot and Cold Stone, Swedish, and Aromatherapy massage therapist. In addition, I am a City & Guild qualified Beauty therapist and Body and Spa practitioner. I also have a Masters degree in Business Administration and post-graduate Diploma in Teaching with several years of industry experience.
I provide an aftercare self-treatment plan to help maintain and move forward with rehabilitation, this ensures quick recovery and less frequent treatments.
Currently, I'm a psychotherapist in training, with over 3 years experience of clinical practice. As a Samaritans core volunteer, I offer talk therapy support to those in emotional distress, struggling to cope or at risk of suicide.
I have the necessary insurance required to practice in my profession. I am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and UK Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP) and adhere to their code of ethics, including regular Continuing Professional Development. I am also DBS checked.
